M16 Rifle keeps Larry from Home

Larry, a citizen of Cedar Rapids, had a home in the Czech Village.  He was retired and had two boats, two cars, a camper and a home that was fully paid.  His wife died in his home, his dog is buried in the backyard.  The flood came and Larry got to dry land.

Larry headed home after the flood.  He was stopped by a guard armed with an M-16 rifle.  The guard pointed the rifle through his windshield and told Larry he was not allowed to go to his home.  Larry thought about going to jail but didn’t.  This isn’t the only story like this in Cedar Rapids.

Larry still doesn’t have a home.  He is waiting for a buyout.  He could rebuild if he spent his own money but he can’t expect to receive any of the LOST revenue because Corbett and Gang have decided they don’t want to spend it there.  It doesn’t matter what we the Citizens were told would be done with the Local Option Sales Tax revenue.

This may seem far-fetched to you all outside of the flood zone but there are many people who will tell you stories that will cause your jaw to drop.

It’s hard to believe that an American citizen had a gun pointed at him telling him he could not go to his property.  It’s easy to just ignore this situation, but take care and remember your local government could take your freedom if it suits their purpose and you may find yourself tossed aside as well.
